Boosted by their 5-1 win over relegated Valtrin FC, Queen's Park CC footballers will look to keep their hopes of avoiding the drop alive when they meet 1976 Angostura Phoenix in a rescheduled bmobile National Super League match today. The match takes place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, from 3.45 pm, the same venue of the Parkites win over Valtrin on Monday. Currently, Queen's Park rests second from bottom on the table with 17 points, three ahead of Valtrin which will return to the Eastern Football Association Premier Division after only one season in the Super League.
The Parkites could follow them out of the tournament and back to the Northern Football Association should they fail to get full points this afternoon against Phoenix which is third on the table with 30 points.
A win for the Parkites will improve their tally to 20 points, the same as fellow NFA club, M&M Harvard which will then need to beat Phoenix in its final match on Sunday to escape the drop. St Francois Nationals currently occupies the other relegation spot with 19 points from 17 matches, one behind M&M Harvard while Club Sando is a further point ahead with a match left for both clubs. At the end of Sunday's round 20 matches, the bottom three clubs will be relegated back to their association league while the top two teams in the T&T Football Federation Champion of Champions competition will be promoted.
