T&T's Njisane Phillip fin­ished 10th in the Men's Keirin at the UCI Track Cy­cling World Cup in Cali, Co­lum­bia on Fri­day evening. Af­ter qual­i­fy­ing for the sec­ond round by win­ning his Repechage heat, the 19-year-old just missed out on the fi­nal with a fourth place fin­ish be­hind Az­izul­has­ni Awang of Malaysia, De­nis Spic­ka of the Czech Re­pub­lic and Great Britain's Ja­son Ken­ny.

He was al­so the fourth in the fol­low­ing 7th-11th race, which was enough to se­cure him a place in the top 10 out of an orig­i­nal pool of 30 cy­clists. Ahead of him in that race were France's Gre­go­ry Bauge, Greek Chris­tos Vo­likakis and Cana­di­an Travis Smith re­spec­tive­ly. The Keirin was even­tu­al­ly won by Awang, who edged sec­ond place Fran­cois Per­vis of France and bronze medal­ist Spic­ka in the fi­nal.
