Crown Trace created a major upset in the Under-18 Division final of the Central Football Association on Thursday, edging highly-favoured Cap-Off Youths 1–0 on the Woodford Lodge ground in Chaguanas.
The lone goal was scored by substitute Casim Kellar in the 52nd minute when he beat the Cap-Off Youths goalkeeper to the ball and headed home.
After the goal, Crown Trace defended stoutly to hold on to the lead as Cap-Off Youths missed opportunity after opportunity in its bid to win three titles in the youth series (crowned Under-12 and Under-14 champions). In the Under-16 Division final, Eagles won 3–2 on penalties over Las Lomas after the scores at the end of regulation were locked 2–2.
Keion Narcis opened the scoring for Eagles in the 17th minute and Jordan Copeland equalised for Las Lomas United one minute after the break. Akeem James re-established the lead for Eagles five minutes later only for Copeland to tie up the scores again in the 48th minute.
