The T&T Cricket Board (T&TCB) will soon move to have all national league clubs put out a women's team.
This according to president of the T&TCB, Azim Bassarath. He said that the clubs will be asked to produce women teams as well, in an effort to get more women playing the game. "With women's cricket now under our umbrella, we are going to do all we can to take the game forward. They have been enjoying great success on the regional scene and have brought T&T much joy in a time, when our senior men team is not bringing in the results.
"The girls have performed well and we need to give them all the support they need to develop. We are going to ask all the clubs to bring out a women's team and of course we don't expect this to happen overnight but we want to get the process started." Bassarath said with more women playing the sport there will be more to choose from and the quality of cricket will get better because they will be able to play more often.
