Allrounder Ryan Jones was voted Cricketer of the Year at Police Sports Club annual prize-giving ceremony recently. Jones playing in the North Zonal Council with the Police team took the most wickets in T20 competition and scored the most runs in the T20 and 40-overs competition. He beat out Kevon Lamont, Amir Khan,Russel Murray and Faraz Mohammed for the top award. Delivering the feature address at the function was T&T Cricket Board (TTCB) executive member and North Zone official Patrick Rampersad.
The highly respected Rampersad call on the lawmen to exercise the discipline and correct attitude that fits the service they are providing. "As a national institution you have the responsibility to show others the right example and when you play your cricket, you must lead the way in terms of discipline and general deportment." Rampersad also brought the players up to scratch as far as local and regional cricket is concerned and said he was very disappointed in the fact that Lendl Simmons was overlooked by the West Indies Cricket Board."
