Nicholas Wren scored a hat-trick and Roger Daniel a double, as Defence Force came from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Queen's Park 5-3 in the Veterans final of the Eighth annual Ventures Invitational Indoor Hockey Tournament at the Woodbrook Youth Facility, Hamilton-Holder Street, on Saturday night.
Robert Mouttet and Gary Chin netted to give the Parkites a 2-1 cushion at the half in their 30-minute clash, with Wren, the player on target for the "Teteron stick-men".
However on the resumption, Wren and company turned up the heat as he added two more goals while Daniel, the national rifle shooting champion and Commonwealth Games and Central American and Caribbean Games medallist added two of his own, to complete the turn-around. Earlier on in the semifinals, Daniel netted a treble for Defence Force in a 6-3 win over Paragon with Wren adding two and Sheldon Froix, the other.
