The Caribbean Çhess Çarnival, presented by the T&T Chess Foundation and played at the Queen's Park Oval, is now a well-established event attracting GMs and IMs from the region and elsewhere. The Umada Cup which had its inaugural session at Cascadia Hotel, St Ann's, last year will be an alternating annual event among countries of the English-speaking Caribbean. As for young Cabralis, he is certain to continue his history-making ways after being the first T&T player to qualify for the Zonals of the world championship which comes off in the Dominican Republic next March. He may also be looking forward to playing in the next sub-Zonals in 2012. Hopefully, T&T's two top-raters will continue to lead the way in 2011 and create the inspiration and leadership needed by our aspiring young chess players.
