National all rounder Rayad Emrit grabbed five wickets for 29 runs as the second trial to select the T&T team, began at the National Cricket Centre (NCC) yesterday. Playing for the Emrit XI against the Gibran Mohammed XI, Emrit ran through the top order as Mohammed's team made 233 all out. Leading the way for Mohammed's team were all rounder Navin Stewart with 54 inclusive of six fours and four sixes.
Also among the runs were West Indies Under-19 all rounder Yannick Cariah with 53 including seven fours and Christian Adams 53 with 10 fours. In reply, Emrit's team was 177 for four. Left hander Justin Guillen got 42 in an opening partnership off 78 with Kieron Joseph 36. PowerGen's Evin Lewis stroked 30 and Merryboys all rounder Aneil Kanhai was unbeaten on 33. The match continues at 10am today.
