Aaliyah Telesford recorded two victories at the second NAAA Development Track and Field meeting at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella last Saturday. Telesford won the girls under-17 150 and 300 metres sprints. In the 300m she clocked the quickest time of 41.77 seconds to take the second of two heats finishing ahead of Ayoka Cummings of Neon Trackers (42.01) and La Brea's Kayelle Clarke( 42.04).
Later in the 150m Telesford was again the victrix, crossing the line in 18.17 seconds to beat Vanessa Andrews of Neon Trackers (19.62) and Simplex's Abyah Thorne (19.68). Jonathan Farinha and Theon Lewis traded places in the boys under-17 events. Lewis of Petrotrin Pointe-a-Pierre secured first place in the 300m in 36.07 winning heat two with Farinha (Abilene Wildcats) clocking 36.18 seconds to top heat one. In the 150m Farinha got revenge taking the third heat in 16.27 which was quicker than Lewis' 16.54 seconds clocking set in winning the second heat.
At the Field Development meet the following day at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Ivan Mark completed a triple feat taking the boys under 15 discus, javelin and shot events. Mark's winning distances were discus (24.71m)/javelin (27.37)/shot (7.70m). The St Mary's Home student repeated the exploits of Javaughn Watson of D'Abadie Progressive. He won the same events at the January 15 Development.
This time around Watson had to settle for second in each event. The third and fourth Development meets takes place today at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, while the Hasely Crawford stadium will host the field competitions. Both events are carded to start at 1 pm.
