Left-hander Nicholas Sookdeosingh slammed an even 100 to lead PowerGen to victory by nine runs over W Connection Wanderers in round three of the Sunday League at Gilbert Park yesterday. Batting first PowerGen made 232 for eight off their 50 overs. In addition to Sookdeosingh, Sri Lanka-born Ishan Muttlich also batted well and got 75. Wanderers in reply made 223 all out with David Livingston scoring 53, Navin Stewart 47 and Narine Bideshi 34. The pick of the bowlers was Samuel Badree with four wickets for 56 runs.
At Pierre Road, Ceramic Merryboys defeated Alescon Comets by 35 runs in a rain-affected clash.
Merryboys took first strike and made 155 for nine off 35 overs. Franklyn Rouse led the way with 32 and Samuel Felix scored 25. Comets in reply reached 120 for eight off 35 overs. Heralal Balgobin scored 28 and Fazil Baksh got 24. Nicholas Rampersad took 2/16 and Miguel Mahabir 2/26.
