Queen's Park Cricket Club and T&TEC advanced to the final of the T&T Cricket Board's National League when they won their semifinal matches against Ceramic Merry Boys and Powergen respectively yesterday. At Inshan Ali Park in Preysal, the Parkites completed an 82-run victory over Merry Boys with Akil Hosein striking 56 and T&T offspinner Amit Jaggernauth taking three for 35. Hosein topscored in QPCC's 220 for nine in 38 overs after they lost the toss and were sent in to bat. In reply, Jaggernauth, medium pacer Smith (2-12) and fast bowler Rashad Harris (2-35) helped reduce Merry Boys to 138 in 32.1 overs. At the National Cricket Centre in Couva, Kevon Cooper scored 41 and took 2-39 while Jason Mohammed scored 66 as T&TEC beat Powergen by 22 runs. The final will be played at Guaracara Park on March 30.
