Jean-Luc Rochford scored to ensure T&T Pro League 2009/2010 runner-up Caledonia AIA will take a 1-0 lead into its home-leg meeting with St Kitts/Nevis' Delphic Newtown United in the Caribbean Football Union Club Championship on March 19 after securing a 1-0 road win on Thursday night. After a relatively even first-half at the Warner Park Stadium, Basseterre, St Kitts/Nevis, Rochford, a member of the national Under-23 team, fired in the lone goal for the wasteful Caledonia Stallions in the 53rd minute at Warner Park, St Kitts/Nevis. As the match wore on, Newtown was unable to equalise and Caledonia seemed happy to take away both the win and the away goal. Caledonia will host the second-leg on March 19 with the winner tackling the winner of the tie between, Tempete FC (Haiti) and Bathestate FC (Dominica) in the second round.
