St Kitts will be de­fend­ing their ti­tle in the Pres­i­dent's Cup, a com­pe­ti­tion with­in the com­pe­ti­tion be­tween na­tion­al teams of two play­ers each. They will be rep­re­sent­ed by Nor­ford and Zeke Per­ci­val while T&T have se­lect­ed Gon­za­lves and Ra­jen­dranath. The Open, the third old­est golf tour­na­ment in the West­ern Hemi­sphere af­ter the Ar­gen­tine Open and the US Open, is al­so one of the few tour­na­ments in the re­gion to be played out over four days and 72 holes. The tour­na­ment is be­ing spon­sored by the ANSA McAL Group of Com­pa­nies, who pledged $150,000 for the sec­ond year of its three-year in­volve­ment with the event.
