In the 13-14 girls' 200m breaststroke, Theana Hay of Centre of Excellence Sea Hawks (2:56.05) and 15-17 girls' competitor Rejan Chin of Blue Dolphins (2:51.37) narrowly missed 'B' qualifying times in their respective age-groups. The two won gold but missed the standards of 2:55.41 and 2:50.68 respectively with Hay swimming a personal best. Shania David became the first double gold medallist of the competition when she won the 11-12 girls' 200m breaststroke (3:11.62 PB) and 400m freestyle (5:13.42) events. Other gold medal winners on the night were Tidal Wave's Syriah David and Jeron O'Brien, Dario Omiss and Jaydan Lucas of Blue Dolphins, and University of T&T's Mosi Denoon, Mark Alexis, Rochelle Pierre and Raenelle Carrillo. The meet continues today from 6p.m with the opening ceremony carded for 5.30pm.
