Kendo will be introduced in T&T next Tuesday with a beginners class at Victoria Avenue Dojo in Port-of-Spain, from 5.30 pm. Kendo is the martial art of Japanese fencing evolved from Samurai techniques. It involves two practitioners face to face armed with bamboo swords and wearing appropriate armour.
The Kendo Federation of Trinidad & Tobago (KFTT) is offering the Kendo Class to beginners and it will run for three months, introducing the basics of sword grip, footwork, posture and striking an opponent.
The programme is open to female and male ages 14 years and up and costs $400.00.
