Na­tion­al se­nior men's vol­ley­ball cap­tain, Nolan Tash heads a 19-man list of play­ers short­list­ed by coach and his old­er sib­bling Gideon Dick­son to con­tin­ue train­ing for the Sixth Pan Amer­i­can Cup in June.The Pan Amer­i­can Cup will take place in Gatineau, Que­bec, Cana­da from June 13-18.The lo­cals are com­ing off their first tri­umph at the se­nior Caribbean Cham­pi­onship lev­el in Suri­name last year.The train­ing squad has very few sur­pris­es and in­cludes all the mem­bers of the vic­to­ri­ous team in Suri­name, in­clud­ing over­seas-based pro­fes­sion­al Marc-An­tho­ny Hon­ore, who is cur­rent­ly in Brazil.

Oth­er se­nior team reg­u­lars are Saleem Ali, Sean Mor­ri­son, Jes­sel Davis, Kevin Nim­rod, Ryan Stew­art, Kevin Ama­r­ali, Rus­sell Pe­na, Ryan Ma­hadeo, Chrsit­ian Fran­cois and Hol­lis Charles.In Cana­da, T&T will be mak­ing its third ap­pear­ance at the tour­na­ment af­ter be­ing in­volved in the first two edi­tions, 2006 in Mex­i­co and a year lat­er in Do­mini­can Repe­blic, plac­ing sixth with vic­to­ries over Pana­ma in both in­stances.The Pan Am Cup is tra­di­tion­al­ly the first big tour­na­ment of the sea­son for the Pan Amer­i­can teams and this year it is par­tic­u­lar­ly im­por­tant with Lon­don Olympic Games qual­i­fi­ca­tion start­ing next Jan­u­ary.

It will al­so serve as a qual­i­fy­ing event for the FIVB World League for 2012.Last year, Puer­to Ri­co ad­vanced from the Pan Am Cup tour­na­ment to even­tu­al­ly qual­i­fy to this year's World League com­pe­ti­tion.The lo­cal­ly-based play­ers will con­tin­ue train­ing to­day at the Cen­tral Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na, Ch­agua­nas from 8 am to 12 noon.An Un­der-23 men's team is al­so in train­ing un­der Dick­son and his coach­ing staff to par­tic­i­pate at an an­nu­al Pan Amer­i­can De­vel­op­men­tal Tour­na­ment at a venue and date to be an­nounced.
