The first day of the Republic Bank sponsored Caribbean Junior Open came to a close with some interesting battles looming over the next two days at the St Andrew’s Golf Course, Moka Maraval. Yesterday, in the 16-17 division Arnaud Wojik from Saint Martin led the way with the day’s best score of 75 at the close. Tied second are T&T’s Andrei Collins and Jean-Marc Lawrence who both shot 81. 2010 winner Brittany Marquez heads the 16-17 girls division with an 85 she is followed by Natalyia Rahamatula with an 88.
The girls 14-15 division is lead by Christina Ferreira who shot an 80, while the boys 14-15 is turning out to be a real tussle between team mates Wan Ju Lee who shot a fine 78 and Dinesh Jackree who had an 80, Bahamian Jason Edgecombe who shot an 81. In the girls 13-and-under there is a tie for the lead with T&T 2010 CAJGC teammates Ysabelle Lawrence and Kezia Bailey both shooting 98, while in the boys 13-and-under Liam Bryden leads the way shooting 85 to Sahin Kumars 86.
