Aaron Wilson earned his third bronze medal in the Under-15 Division of the Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Federation Cadet and Junior Championship when he was beaten in the singles semifinal in San German, Puerto Rico on Saturday. Wilson went under to Manuel Gomez of Puerto Rico 7–11, 11–7, 13–11, 11–8, while top-seeded Brian Afanador defeated Isaac Vila of the Dominican Republic 11–4, 11–6, 11–6 in the other.
It was sweet revenge for Afanador who had lost to Vila in the team encounter between Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Afanador went on to defeat teammate and second-ranked Manuel Gomez 11–5, 8–11, 11–9, 11–2, 11–5 in the gold medal contest. Wilson earned his spot in the last four after he dispatched Hector Orozco of Puerto Rico 11–6, 6–11, 11–9, 11–5 in the last-16 followed by an impressive triumph over Jose Luis Toribio of Dominican Republic 11–8, 11–6, 12–10.
