Se­moy Hack­ett (Louisana State Uni­ver­si­ty) copped sil­ver with her school 4x100m in the fi­nals on the sec­ond day of ac­tion at the an­nu­al Penn Re­lays at the Franklyn Field sta­di­um in Penn­syl­van­nia, USA yes­ter­day. Hack­ett's LSU clocked 43.49 sec­onds to fin­ish be­hind Texas A&M (43.24) and ahead of Cen­tral Flori­da (43.70). In the heats on Thurs­day, LSU was third quick­est in 44.21. Ale­na and Nyoka Giles were part of Min­neso­ta's team which fin­ished 20th in the pre­lims in 46.21 sec­onds.

Carif­ta girls un­der 20 400m hur­dles bronze medal­list Ker­ne­sha Spann just missed out a medal in the High Schools Girls 400m hur­dles fi­nals clock­ing 60.65 sec­onds. Spann, rep­re­sent­ing St Fran­cois Girls Col­lege, was off her per­son­al best of 59.19 she set last week­end in Mon­tego Bay, Ja­maica where she was third. Spann re­turned to help St Fran­cois to eighth in the heats of the High Schools 4x100m re­lay heats for large schools. Janae Alexan­der, Tsain Joseph and Lisa Wick­ham joined Spann to clock 48.28 with St Joseph's Con­vent (PoS) in 16th in 48.71. Alexan­der and Joseph were part of TT's Carif­ta bronze medal win­ning girls un­der 17 4x100m team.

Jonathan Far­in­ha and Jonathan Hold­er led Queen's Roy­al Col­lege to ninth in the High Schools Boys 4x100m pre­lim­i­nar­ies for small schools. The duo teamed up with Levi Dun­can and Asa Gue­vara clocked 42.73 . Far­in­ha, Hold­er and Gue­vara re­turned from Mon­tego Bay with re­lay sil­ver medals. St An­tho­ny's Col­lege (Kyle Bac­chus, Thu­lani George, Ko­ry Woods, Ian Thomas) was 17th in 43.26.
