Wynnette Campbell, the captain of the Defence Force women's football team, showed she could mix it up with the men when she netted a double to lead her team to a 3-0 shut out of Prisons in the Ministry of National Security Sports Day, football competition. The one-day event involving eight branches of the Ministry was contested at the Police Training Grounds, St James Barracks, Western Main Road, St James on Sunday.
In addition to Campbell, a member of the Defence Force's hockey and Steelpan Orchestra as well, Keshorn Theodore added the other goal against Prisons, which had no answer to their opponents. A day earlier, Fire Service proved too hot in the All Fours competition to win ahead of Fire Service, Defence Force and Administration at the Ministry of National Security Building, Temple Court, Abercromby Street. On Sunday, the windball cricket tournament will be contested at Aranguez Savannah or Constantine Park, Tunapuna while the netball competition is scheduled for the following weekend (May 15) at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo.
