Falo­mi Mar­cano was the last com­peti­tor stand­ing from a field of 65 chal­lengers at the Car­ifin's Aer­o­bic Burnout held at the Er­ic Williams Plaza, In­de­pen­dence Square, Port-of-Spain on Wednes­day af­ter­noon.Mar­cano did well to fin­ish in 49 min­utes and 59 sec­onds, over 13 min­utes longer than the last elmi­nat­ed men's win­ner Ke­iron Hart, who fin­ished in 36 min­utes, 36 sec­onds.The Car­iFin's Aer­o­bics Burnout was the fi­nal phase of the Car­iFin Ur­ban Chal­lenge which fol­lows the One Lap Sa­van­nah, the Green Mile and the Chan­cel­lor Chal­lenge, all of which took place last month.

Mar­cano of First Cit­i­zens was chal­lenged by both Ayana George (CBTT) who was elim­i­nat­ed in 49:32 and Ri­ana Har­rin­auth (RBL) who made her ex­it at the 49:10 mark.Sev­er­al min­utes af­ter Ja­neen Sal­im (GHL) and Krys­tle Gomez (CBTT) were shown the "red flag" sig­nalling elim­i­na­tion.The top five fin­ish­ers was a women's af­fair as they showed lit­tle signs of fa­tigue. The in­struc­tors sport­ing Gatorade gears seemed to show signs of slow­ing down even be­fore Mar­cano and com­pa­ny did.

The event was rocked with the high tem­po of So­ca mu­sic mixed with fast­for­ward­ed main­stream Pop mu­sic to keep the en­er­gy flow­ing. Many passers­by made their way in­to the sur­round­ing walls of spec­ta­tors to catch a glimpse of the chal­lenge and pos­si­bly a taste of the var­i­ous give­aways on the ta­ble from Mar­ket­ing & Dis­tri­b­u­tion. They then joined in the loud ap­plause which fol­lowed the elim­i­na­tion of the sec­ond-placed George to de­clare Mar­cano cham­pi­on of the event.

A point to­tal will be re­leased soon to give an over­all place­ment of com­peti­tors who took part and placed in the var­i­ous events host­ed by Car­iFin.John Don­ald­son, the men's cham­pi­on of the Green Mile and Chan­cel­lor Chal­lenge, as well as the the run­ner up in the One Lap Sa­van­nah run, is ex­pect­ed to claim a near top-placed fin­ish as an Ur­ban Chal­lenge cham­pi­on.

Al­so in the run­nings is Mark Thomas, who won the Sa­van­nah One Lap and placed sec­ond in the Chan­cel­lor Chal­lenge. Es­la An­tho­ny, who fin­ished sixth in the Burnout, is al­so ex­pect­ed to chal­lenge for the women's crown as she was vic­to­ri­ous among the women in the Chan­cel­lor Chal­lenge, the Sa­van­nah One Lap and placed sec­ond in the Green Mile.To con­clude the Car­iFin events, the in­ter-bank or­gan­i­sa­tion which pro­motes health, fit­ness and com­rade­ship and the fi­nan­cial sec­tor, will be host­ing a Crick­et, Foot­ball and All Fours day at the Re­pub­lic Bank Grounds, Barataria next Sat­ur­day fol­lowed by a Car­iFin X-C & Fam­i­ly Fun Day at the end of this month at the Sevil­la Golf Course, Cou­va.
