Gary Chin scored a pair of goals as Queen's Park main­tained its 100 per cent win­ning record in the T&T Hock­ey Board Vet­er­ans Di­vi­sion with a nar­row 3-2 win over Po­lice at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua, on Thurs­day night.Gary Grif­fith chipped in with the third all im­por­tant item for the Parkites, now with max­i­mum 12 points from four match­es.Joint sec­ond on the eight-team ta­ble are Notre Dame and Coro­na Fa­ti­ma with eight points each.Ear­li­er in the week, Fa­ti­ma edged Paragon 3-2 and Notre Dame bat­tled to a 3-3 draw with De­fence Force.To­day, at­ten­tion will shift to the Men's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion where sec­ond placed Queen's Park comes up against De­fence Force from 6 pm with a chance to go top of the ta­ble.

The Parkites cur­rent­ly sit in sec­ond spot with 13 points from six match­es, three be­hind Paragon and will go top with a win due to their su­pe­ri­or goal-dif­fer­ence.De­fend­ing cham­pi­on, Petrotrin is third, a fur­ther point be­hind with a match in hand, while De­fence Force is next with six points from three match­es and can join the Oil­men on nine points with a win.The Parkites go in­to the clash with De­fence Force on the heels of a 3-0 loss to Petrotrin last week­end, while the "Teteron Boys" last played on March 20, in a 3-1 tri­umph over Notre Dame.

Pri­or to the QPCC/De­fence Force clash, Har­vard Mar­itime Check­ers and Paragon will square off in a Women's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion en­counter from 4.15 pm.Check­ers are com­ing off their first win of the sea­son, 2-0 over Petrotrin and lie fourth with five points from four match­es, while Paragon is a point be­hind from a match less.Reign­ing cham­pi­on, Shandy Carib Mag­no­lias which had their per­fect start to the sea­son end­ed in a 1-0 loss to ri­vals Stag Malvern last week, lead with 12 points from five match­es, three more than Malvern which has a match in hand. Pro­mot­ed Notre Dame is third with sev­en points.
