Stoke City and Soca Warriors striker, Kenwyne Jones has been named ambassador for the Guinness Street Football Challenge. This comes after the EPL player signed a deal to make an appearance at the final stage of the tournament which will take place on May 29 at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo. As part of the deal, Jones will make himself availiable to distribute prizes amongst T&T’s best tricksters and street footballers as well as to interact with fans. He will also be available for press interviews while making his first appearance in the country for several months. When asked of the significance of the tournament on the country and the wider Caribbean, Jones described the essence of the tournament as one fostering a sense of unity and togetherness within the communities the tournament is taking place.
“The Guinnesss Street Football Challenge is an awesome opportunity for football players and fans to connect with something that gives them a sense of pride, enjoyment and the ability to display their greatness.

“Whether you’re the most skilled player or the most supportive fan on earth, this event gives you the opportunity to demonstrate,” said Jones. “Football has long been the Caribbean’s number one sport and with Guinness focusing on communites, every man will get the chance to display his greatness through the Guinness Street Football Challenge,” he added. As of recent, Jones has been in fine form, netting four goals in five games for the Potters adding to the anticipation of his arrival from the home support. Granted he remains fit, he will be part of the Stoke team to face Manchester City in the FA Cup final in Wembley on May 14. The Guinness Street Football Challenge East Zone play-offs kicked off  this week at the  Malabar Basketball Courts.
