The Munroe Road Cricket Club, comprising of players who previously played at the National League level, recently won the Central Cricket Council Sunday T20 Competition. Having played unbeaten during the 2011 season, Munroe Road defeated Milton Cricket Club in the quarters and TCL in the semifinal. In the final, played at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain, Munroe Road Cricket Club defeated Bristol Rovers by six wickets to claim the top prize of $5,000 and the winner's Trophy.
Having won the toss, Bristol Rovers batted and were bowled out for 85 runs in the last ball of the 20th over. A Alexander scored 19 and N Ramlogan chipped in with 18. Bowling for Munroe Road, Sieu "Panchee" Ramoutar claimed four wickets for 15 runs. Eric "Pundit" Ramsaran got two for 12 and Chanka Ramtahal also claimed two wickets for 19 runs.
In reply, Munroe Road made 86 runs for four wickets, with Teddy Ramnarine getting 33 n.o. and Keith Gopie making 19 n.o. At the end of the game, Sieu Ramoutar received the trophy for the most wickets while Teddy Ramnarine received trophies for the most runs and also as Man of the Match.
