The North Zone Bas­ket­ball League 2011 sea­son will jump off on Sep­tem­ber 11 with some of the top teams par­tic­i­pat­ing. At the Zone's first gen­er­al coun­cil meet­ing since its elec­tion of a new Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mis­sion back on June 2, held on Thurs­day evening at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo, de­tails of the zone's re­quire­ments for the up­com­ing sea­son were an­nounced and dis­cussed among the league's mem­ber­ship. On the agen­da, five sub com­mit­tees and it's per­son­nel were an­nounced and con­firmed to ex­e­cute the op­er­a­tons of the league.

There will be an Or­gan­i­sa­tion and De­vel­op­ment Com­mit­tee, Youth De­vel­op­ment Com­mit­tee, Dis­ci­pli­nary Com­mit­tee, Mar­ket­ing Com­mit­tee and a Tech­ni­cal Com­mit­tee. Clubs wish­ing to com­pete for the 2011 sea­son are re­quired pay a reg­is­tra­tion fee of $700, while in­di­vid­ual play­ers will pay $100 each to reg­is­ter. Each team must reg­is­ter a max­i­mum of 25 play­ers. Teams and play­ers in the Un­der-19 and un­der-15 teams are ex­empt­ed from pay­ing a reg­is­tra­tion fee. Reg­is­tra­tion be­gan on Thurs­day and will run un­til Sep­tem­ber 1. A change has been made to the is­su­ing of play­ers iden­ti­fi­ca­tion pass­es. All play­ers for the up­com­ing sea­son may use their na­tion­al iden­ti­fi­ca­tion card to gain en­try to the play­ing venue on game night.

The coach­es, how­ev­er, will have to wear pass­es on match days. It is a manda­to­ry league re­quire­ment.

Each team will be giv­en three pass­es. One for the head coach and two pass­es for as­sis­tant coach­es.

As an­nounced, their will be a $500 fine for those ap­pear­ing late for the league's open­ing cer­e­mo­ny while no-shows will be pe­nalised with a $800 fine. The next gen­er­al coun­cil meet­ing will be held at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um LOC Con­fer­ence Room on Ju­ly 7 at 6:30 pm.
