Reign­ing cham­pi­ons of the Su­per 10 Bas­ket­ball League, De­tour Shak At­tack and na­tion­al cham­pi­on team De­fence Force will par­tic­i­pate in a Good­will Tour­na­ment sched­uled to be­gin next Thurs­day at the Jean Pierre Com­plex, Wright­son Road from 6 pm. The three day tour­na­ment is host­ed by the Su­per 10 Bas­ket­ball League (SBL) to as­sist for­mer na­tion­al bas­ket­baller Hillary Cobb, who sus­tained ma­jor in­juries fol­low­ing a ve­hic­u­lar ac­ci­dent in Jan­u­ary last year.

In her re­cov­ery since the ac­ci­dent, she has re­quired med­ica­tion and phys­io­ther­a­py which comes at a ma­jor ex­pense. The tour­na­ment-which will al­so see for­mer na­tion­al cham­pi­on team Na­tion­al Flour Mills (NFM) and reign­ing South Zone cham­pi­on Petro Jazz-will help in rais­ing funds that will as­sist with Cobb's re­cu­per­a­tion. Of­fi­cials from the As­so­ci­a­tion of Bas­ket­ball of T&T (Abott) will ref­er­ee the match­es.

The tour­na­ment will jump-off at 6 pm on Thurs­day with NFM and Jazz in ac­tion, fol­lowed by a fix­ture be­tween De­tour Shak At­tack and De­fence Force. Cobb's friends and fam­i­ly are call­ing for as­sis­tance to help deal with her re­cov­ery.
