Assistant referee Cindy Mohammed made her first appearance at the current FIFA Women's World Cup in Tuesday's group stage match between Sweden and Colombia. The T&T official will know today what other matches she will officiate. Mohammed missed last year's FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup when she failed a fitness test but proved she was up to the tournament in Germany last week.
"It was a relief for me moreso because of what happened last year but this time I was better prepared mentally and physically and I got the result," Mohammed said. Mohammed became a FIFA referee in 2002 and appeared at Under-20 Women's World Cup in Russia 2006 and Chile 2008. She made her first appearance at the senior women's World Cup in China 2007 and was also selected for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
