Na­tion­al for­ward Wayne Leg­erton scored four goals in two match­es as Petrotrin won back-to-back match­es to open a six-point lead in the T&T Hock­ey Board Men's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion on the week­end. Leg­erton scored a dou­ble while Solomon Ec­cles, At­i­ba Whit­ting­ton and Michael O'Con­nor chipped in with one each in a 5-0 blow out of Par­adise at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua, on Sat­ur­day. A day lat­er, Leg­erton and Otis O'Con­nor scored two goals each as the Oil­men drilled Notre Dame, 6-1.

Tris­ton Grant and Arielle Bowen added the oth­ers for Petrotrin while Aidan De Gannes net­ted the Dames' lone re­ply. With the vic­to­ries, Petrotrin, the de­fend­ing league cham­pi­on im­proved to 25 points from ten match­es, six ahead of trio Queen's Park, Paragon and De­fence Force, all of which have played a match less. De­fence Force, win­ners of the Big-Four ti­tle al­ready this sea­son got back in the league race with two straight vic­to­ries as well.

The "Teteron Boys" got a 57th minute item from T&T for­ward Mick­el Pierre to edge Coro­na Fa­ti­ma 1-0 on Fri­day while on Sun­day, Aaron Mc Ken­zie got two in a 4-0 shut-out of Par­adise. Mar­cus James and Pierre got the oth­er goals for De­fence Force. Paragon out­played Malvern 4-2 with braces from Kiel Mur­ray and Joel Bod­kin for the vic­tors.
