De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Trinidad and To­ba­go will bat­tle Bar­ba­dos to­day in the third round of the Re­gion­al Un­der-15 crick­et se­ries at Gilbert Park in Cal­i­for­nia. Trinidad and To­ba­go is cur­rent­ly fourth on 9.1 points and the Bar­ba­di­ans are just be­low them in the stand­ings on 6.3 points. The Wind­ward Is­lands lead the stand­ings with 9.7 points af­ter two rounds and they are fol­lowed by Guyana on 9.2 The Lee­wards prop up the ta­ble with 6.2 points. The oth­er games to­day will be Lee­ward Is­lands against Wind­ward Is­lands at the Na­tion­al Crick­et Cen­tre and Ja­maica against Guyana at Hon­ey­moon Park.

So far the rain has ham­pered the se­ries very bad­ly with Trinidad and To­ba­go on­ly get­ting in some ac­tion in their sec­ond round match against Ja­maica. Their open­ing game against Guyana was com­plete­ly washed out. Pres­i­dent of the T&T Crick­et Board (TTCB), Az­im Bas­sarath said he was con­cerned with the fact that the play­ers are not get­ting am­ple op­por­tu­ni­ty to play but there is noth­ing that the board can do. "We can­not con­trol the weath­er but we are do­ing what we can and shift­ing games to venues with good drainage."
