Defending champions Trinidad and Tobago will battle Barbados today in the third round of the Regional Under-15 cricket series at Gilbert Park in California. Trinidad and Tobago is currently fourth on 9.1 points and the Barbadians are just below them in the standings on 6.3 points. The Windward Islands lead the standings with 9.7 points after two rounds and they are followed by Guyana on 9.2 The Leewards prop up the table with 6.2 points. The other games today will be Leeward Islands against Windward Islands at the National Cricket Centre and Jamaica against Guyana at Honeymoon Park.

So far the rain has hampered the series very badly with Trinidad and Tobago only getting in some action in their second round match against Jamaica. Their opening game against Guyana was completely washed out. President of the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB), Azim Bassarath said he was concerned with the fact that the players are not getting ample opportunity to play but there is nothing that the board can do. “We cannot control the weather but we are doing what we can and shifting games to venues with good drainage.”

ROUND 3 MATCHES

Leeward Islands v Windward Islands – NCC (Lyndon Rajkumar & Denesh Ramdhanie).
Jamaica v Guyana – Honeymoon Park - (Anthony Sanowar & Whycliffe Mitchum).
Trinidad & Tobago v Barbados – Gilbert Park - (Carl Tuckett & Zahid Bassarath).
