Why is MP Colm Imbert so worried about the threat of legal suit by the Attorney General? Moreover, why is he "attacking" his former junior minister and parliamentary colleague, Roger Joseph? Is Imbert trying to intimidate AG Anand Ramlogan? Imbert's demand that the AG not pursue a case against him because he (Imbert) deems the evidence to be untrue is irrational and amusing.
It is for the courts and the judicial system to determine who is telling the truth when there is conflicting evidence-not MP Imbert. Indeed, the Attorney General would be acting improperly if he believes former Minister Imbert over former Minister Joseph.
If, as Imbert claims, there is no merit in the case to be filed by the AG, then Imbert has nothing to fear as the courts will simply dismiss the claim and the Attorney General would be embarrassed. It is time for Imbert to take a vow of silence and let the AG and the courts do their work.
