Stacey Siu Butt of Shandy Carib Mag­no­lias and Paragon's Akim Tou­s­saint both scored hat-tricks as their club closed the gap on the re­spec­tive lead­ers of the T&T Hock­ey Board Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sions.On Fri­day, Siu Butt got her tre­ble to lead ti­tle-hold­ers' Mag­no­lias to a 3–1 whip­ping of Har­vard Mar­itime Check­ers in the Women's Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion at the Na­tion­al Hock­ey Cen­tre, Tacarigua.With the three points earned, Mag­no­lias, last year's league win­ner, climbed to 22 points from ten match­es, three adrift of lead­ers' Malvern which has a match in hand.Malvern will be in ac­tion against Big-Four win­ners' Notre Dame to­day from 2.45 pm­For Check­ers which stayed third with 15 points, Patrice Pad­more was on tar­get.Yes­ter­day, in the Men's Di­vi­sion, na­tion­al for­ward Tou­s­saint got his hat-trick to lead Paragon past Par­adise 6–2.

Christo­pher Sci­pio, Joel Bod­kin and Co­gie But­ler added one each for the win­ners while Han­del Thom and Jarel Thomp­son got Par­adise replies.With the win, Paragon grabbed sole pos­ses­sion of sec­ond spot on the ta­ble with 22 points from ten match­es, three be­hind de­fend­ing league cham­pi­on Petrotrin while Queen's Park and De­fence Force are a fur­ther three points be­hind with a match in hand each.The Parkites came up against Coro­na Fa­ti­ma last night.
