W Con­nec­tion went in­to its clash with bmo­bile Joe Pub­lic in the Un­der-13 Di­vi­sion of the Oa­sis Youth Pro League at Gilbert Park, Cou­va, yes­ter­day, need­ing on­ly a point to be crowned cham­pi­ons.This af­ter the "Savonet­ta Youths" blanked St Ann's Rangers 2-0 at the same venue on Sun­day with goals from Isa­iah Hud­son in the 47th minute and Bradlee Lee Foon, two min­utes lat­er to im­prove to 49 points from 17 match­es, 12 ahead of clos­est ri­val Joe Pub­lic on the 11-team ta­ble.

How­ev­er, Joe Pub­lic, which has played 16 match­es to W Con­nec­tion's 17, still had a math­e­mat­i­cal chance of ty­ing up the points, but need­ed a vic­to­ry yes­ter­day against the lead­ers and al­so win its re­main­ing match­es while hop­ing the Leon­son Lewis-coached W Con­nec­tion tastes de­feats in its re­main­ing match­es as well.

The David John-Williams owned W Con­nec­tion club is al­so on course to top the Un­der-15 age-group com­pe­ti­tion af­ter it edged Rangers 3-2 to move to 48 points, eight clear of Adams' Con­struc­tion San Juan Jabloteh, which has a match in hand.How­ev­er, in the Un­der-17 Di­vi­sion, Joe Pub­lic with 45 points from 16 match­es is sev­en ahead of Jabloteh and needs six points from a pos­si­ble 12 to clinch the league crown. Third-placed W Con­nec­tion is a fur­ther two points be­hind.
