Na­tion­al ju­nior play­ers, Aaron Wil­son and Cather­ine Spicer cap­tured the Per­sad's In­vi­ta­tion­al Ju­nior Ta­ble-Ten­nis Clas­sic, host­ed by the San Fer­nan­do Zone of the T&T Ta­ble Ten­nis As­so­ci­a­tion. Wil­son de­feat­ed fel­low na­tion­al ju­nior team play­er Arun Roop­nar­ine 3-0 in the boys' fi­nal af­ter go­ing past his younger broth­er, Vi­mal Roop­nar­ine 3-0 in the se­mi-fi­nal. Arun Roop­nar­ine de­feat­ed Am­resh Mun­gal 3-1 in the oth­er se­mi-fi­nal.

Spicer staved off a spir­it­ed chal­lenge from an­oth­er youth play­er Brit­tany Joseph to win the girls' ti­tle, 3-1.

Ear­li­er, Spicer eased past Renu­ka Sitram 3-0 in one se­mi-fi­nal and Joseph out­last­ed Am­bi­ka Sitram in the oth­er se­mi-fi­nal 3-2. The San Fer­nan­do Zone al­so plans to stage more de­vel­op­men­tal tour­na­ments and ac­tiv­i­ties tar­get­ing the youth and will soon launch a South­ern Coach­ing Clin­ic in five venues.
