Floyd Trumpet has pulled out of his fight with JoJo Dan on Friday on the "Night Of Champions" card at the Jean Pierre Complex. The card is being staged jointly by Floyd Trumpet Fight Productions and Giovanni Potts. In a press release from Giovanni Potts the other promoter of the card, it stated that: Joann Balgobin, head of Floyd Trumpet Fight Productions, claimed he (Trumpet) has broken his nose and pulled out of the much anticipated fight against JoJo Dan of Canada, in which a number of titles were at stake for potential shot at the WBC World Title in a couple months if victorious. The release continued, however, fortune favours the brave and young, and brave Iwan Azore, who was in the right place at the right time, and when asked if he would take the fight, he almost fainted he actually dropped to his knees and said :"I believe I'm dreaming, is this for real or am I in a fantasy".
Azore will contest for the WBC cabofe and if victorious against JoJoDan he will get a shot at the WBC world title. All I'm seeing now is dollars and cents and I think I'm making a lot of sense in taking this fight. I don't know if Trumpet is aware of the magnitude of this opportunity, but I'm going for it. I sat last night and wondered is Trumpet is crazy or is it that his nose is really broken or his heart is broken. Well we will see, but I'm not letting this one pass me by. Bring Jo Jo Dan, bring Tarzan, I fighting anyone any where put him in a phone booth in Independence Square and I will be there to fight, I believe that my fight against Trumpet in 2008 was a bad decision that gave him a win so this is going to be the opportunity I am looking for to show him that I'm the better fighter and that I don't run away from big challenges.
Additionally, the release continued: Special adviser to the T&T Boxing Board Boxu Potts has said that Trumpet will have to provide medicals to the board with dates and times of the medicals and also the X-rays and also have to visit the medical team appointed by the board for verification of his injuries. Although I know that boxing is a hurting sport I sympathise with Trumpet because he has worked hard to get to this stage, but he also has to realise that the Ministry of Sport and other sponsors have invested a lot in this event and he has to go through proper medicals to be deemed unfit for this card.
