The T&T Karate Fed­er­a­tion (TTKF) has start­ed a cam­paign to have all mar­tial arts in­struc­tor in T&T be­come First Aid/CPR cer­ti­fied. Last Sun­day, the T&T Sport Mar­tial Arts Elite head­ed by sen­sei Bar­ry Win­ter and sen­sei Lena Mas­tay host­ed a course con­duct­ed by the T&T Red Cross at San­gre Grande Sec­ondary School. The in­struc­tor was Marx Du­ri­ty.

The cer­ti­fi­ca­tion is for three years and is rec­og­nized in­ter­na­tion­al­ly. Al­so com­plet­ing the course were Shi­han Michael Cromwell, head of Peace­ful War­riors Mar­tial Arts Acad­e­my. It is now manda­to­ry for all TTKF in­struc­tors to be­come First Aid/CPR cer­ti­fied and com­plete a rec­og­nized coach­ing course to be ap­proved as a cer­ti­fied in­struc­tor. The TTKF has urged all po­ten­tial stu­dents to see these cre­den­tials be­fore join­ing clubs.
