Young box­ers at­tached to the Uni­fied Pro­mot­er's Sport­ing Acad­e­my, to­geth­er with the Am­a­teur Box­ing As­so­ci­a­tion were giv­en as­sis­tance with their nu­tri­tion­al di­et, to sup­port them while in camp for the sum­mer hol­i­days. The ges­ture came from Xtra Foods which is sup­port­ing the live-in camp at the Cos­mic Box­ing Gym in San Fer­nan­do and a Sport­ing Acad­e­my at the Lar­ry Gomes Sta­di­um. Sev­er­al chil­dren will ben­e­fit from learn­ing the art of box­ing. They will al­so be tak­en on field trips and life skills ses­sions where they will re­ceive meals.

Uni­fied Pro­mot­er's Sport­ing Acad­e­my and the Am­a­teur Box­ing As­so­ci­a­tion yes­ter­day thanked Daniel Austin and Mc Fiercen of Xtra Foods for their as­sis­tance. The ini­tia­tive is al­so geared to­wards help­ing the young­sters with their skills in con­flict res­o­lu­tion, anger man­age­ment, dam­age con­trol, sex ed­u­ca­tion, sub­stance abuse, man­ners and eti­quette, acad­e­mia, learn­ing to be law abid­ing cit­i­zens and tal­ent iden­ti­fi­ca­tion. An adult lit­er­a­cy course is al­so pro­vid­ed for par­ents, so that they can com­mu­ni­cate ef­fec­tive­ly with their chil­dren.
