Young boxers attached to the Unified Promoter's Sporting Academy, together with the Amateur Boxing Association were given assistance with their nutritional diet, to support them while in camp for the summer holidays. The gesture came from Xtra Foods which is supporting the live-in camp at the Cosmic Boxing Gym in San Fernando and a Sporting Academy at the Larry Gomes Stadium. Several children will benefit from learning the art of boxing. They will also be taken on field trips and life skills sessions where they will receive meals.
Unified Promoter's Sporting Academy and the Amateur Boxing Association yesterday thanked Daniel Austin and Mc Fiercen of Xtra Foods for their assistance. The initiative is also geared towards helping the youngsters with their skills in conflict resolution, anger management, damage control, sex education, substance abuse, manners and etiquette, academia, learning to be law abiding citizens and talent identification. An adult literacy course is also provided for parents, so that they can communicate effectively with their children.
