Bo­ca Ju­niors, the reign­ing Tiger Tanks Trinidad Un­lim­it­ed spon­sored Fyz­abad Com­mu­ni­ty Foot­ball League cham­pi­ons, edged Stan­dard SC 2-1 to keep its per­fect record in­tact at the Petrotrin Fyz­abad Recre­ation Ground on Sat­ur­day. Rod­ney Young opened the scor­ing in the 40th minute for Bo­ca Ju­niors when he fired past gaol­keep­er Amar Ram­nar­ine and five min­utes in­to the sec­ond-half Em­manuel Adams in­creased the lead to 2-0 with a great so­lo ef­fort. But the goal of the game was yet to come when teenage stand­out Stef­fan Seep­er­sad, al­so a na­tion­al youth crick­eter, got the ball in the 68th minute.

Head­ing to goal, he drib­bled two de­fend­ers on the left, turned and drib­bled them again then un­leashed a beau­ty of a left foot­er to the far right passed a be­wil­dered Adisa Noel in goal for Bo­ca Ju­niors to slice the deficit in half. How­ev­er, Bo­ca held on to se­cure its fifth straight win from as many match­es and with it max­i­mum 15 points, three ahead of Gal­lows Unit­ed FC and New Com­ers.

Gal­lows led by a brace from the league's lead­ing scor­er,, Kafele Ge­of­froy (10th, 25th) and Carlis Green (13th, 40th) trounced Av­o­cat Unit­ed 5-0. The Fyz­abad Com­mu­ni­ty Foot­ball League, now in its 27th year, was opened on Ju­ly 31 at the Petrotrin Fyz­abad Recre­ation Ground with eight par­tic­i­pat­ing teams vy­ing for over $30,000 worth of prizes spon­sored by Tiger Tanks Trinidad Un­lim­it­ed.
