Soca Warriors coach, Germany's Otto Pfister will have his first look and US-based duo Devorn Jorsling and Kevin Molino when the national team resumes training today at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva from 9 am.
This is in preparation for its next two 2014 Concacaf World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Barbados.
The Soca Warriors, joint-leaders of its four-team Group second round series with six points from two matches, the same as Guyana will play away to Bermuda on October 7 before hosting Barbados at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, four days later.
Jorsling and Molino, are coming off very successful debut season in the US Soccer League after helping debutants, Orlando City Lions to the USL Pro title earlier this month. Also expected back in the training squad is former Belgium-based goalkeeper, Jan-Michael Williams, Philadelphia Union midfielder Keon Daniel and goalkeeper Marvin Phillip who was due home last night after a trial stint with US Major League Soccer club, Vancouver Whitecaps. Joe Public defender, Carlyle Mitchell who has signed with the Whitecaps is also set to train today ahead of his possible departure on Thursday for the MLS.
However, striker Darryl Roberts, who played in the two qualifiers so far and scored in the 2-0 win over Barbados suffered an elbow injury on trial in South Africa and is unlikely to feature in the matches next month while midfielder Densill Theobald is off to India to begin an eight-month spell at Dempo. The team will also train tomorrow while the squad for the Bermuda qualifier to be played in Hamilton, will assemble in Fort Lauderdale on October 2 for a training camp before departing for Bermuda two days later.
