A disappointed T&T cricket team will leave India today minus pacer Ravi Rampaul, batsmen Adrian Barath, Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo and wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin who are off to Bangladesh to join the rest of the West Indies team on tour there. Team manager Omar Khan said his players left wonderful memories behind in India. T&T played six matches and won four. Khan said he could not fault the players for their effort. "We fought hard and the guys were committed to the effort throughout. All the players remain committed and supported one another. It was a team effort and we are looking for the same contributions as we head to Guyana for the 50 overs tournament."
Among those creating an impact were pacer Ravi Rampaul, spinner Sunil Narine and all rounder Kevon Cooper, but khan said there were no approaches to them to join IPL teams. "The three have really made quite an impression and I know there were IPL scouts at the venues. So far they have not received any calls but I am sure the teams will express interest in the trio. "I am sure when the tournament is over and the teams sit to come up with their combinations for next season, Narine, Cooper and Ravi could be discussed." Khan noted it was every player's dream to play in the IPL. "A player's shelf life is short, so it is great for a player to try and maximise his earning potential and the IPL presents that opportunity. Cricket is their work and they will be looking to secure their respective future."
Khan added: "There are also other T20 leagues around the world that offer good opportunities and we have seen two of our own in Keiron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo making use of it. I hope others can make the grade because in addition to making the money, they will also be able to improve their cricket."
