All rounder Kevon Copper says T&T was able to make the West Indies proud despite not reaching the semi-finals of the 2011 Nokia Champions League in India. T&T failed to make the semis after winning two and losing two of their group matches. They began with a last ball loss to the Mumbai Indians and followed with a Super Over loss to the New South Wales Blues.
However, they rebounded with two victories over the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and the Cape Cobras but it was not enough to put them into the semis as they finished third on four points. Moving along from their group were NSW (6 points) and Mumbai Indians (5 points). Cooper who starred in both wins said: "We did not make it into the semi-finals but we flew the West Indies flag high. We showed people that we can be competitive and actually win matches."
T&T finished as runners-up in the inaugural tournament in 2009 and Guyana who played in the 2010 tournament in South Africa failed to win a match. Cooper continued: "I think we made our country and the fans proud with our performance. Cooper said he thoroughly enjoyed his time in India. "I really enjoyed my time and my cricket is better off for it. I am now looking forward to playing in the regional 50 overs competition and doing well. With a number of our players missing for that tournament, I will have more responsibility and I am looking forward to it and looking to keep building my game."
