Mar­vin Mar­tin fired in the de­ci­sive item with four min­utes left in the match as Cara­pichaima East Sec­ondary slipped past Gas­par­il­lo 2-1 to stay on course to re­tain its Cen­tral Zone ti­tle. Den­zil Gill had fired Caps' in­to a 25th minute at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre which it held un­til Tri­fon Browne's 49th minute equalis­er for Gas­par­il­lo. But just as it seemed both teams would set­tle for a share of the points, Mar­tin banged home the win­ner for Caps' to reg­is­ter its fifth win from as many match­es. Cara­pichaima now has max­i­mum 15 points, the same as Cou­va West Sec­ondary which has played two more match­es while Gas­par­il­lo is third with 12 points. Cou­va West stayed in the ti­tle hunt af­ter whip­ping Wa­ter­loo 4-1 led by a dou­ble from Jaf­fet Williams his eight of the cam­paign while Pre­sen­ta­tion edged Tabaquite 1-0.

Hen­ry hand­ful puts Pre­sen­ta­tion clear

For­mer na­tion­al Un­der-17 strik­er Shack­iel Hen­ry banged in a hand­ful to lead a ram­pant Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege past Ves­signy 7-0 in their South Zone match at Man­nie Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la. Hen­ry, got his goals in the 18th, 35th, 47th, 68th and 72nd while Amare Thomas added a brace in the 41st and 55th minute for Pre­sen­ta­tion now with 19 points from nine match­es, three clear of reign­ing zon­al cham­pi­on, Na­pari­ma Col­lege which suf­fered an em­barass­ing 5-1 whip­ping from Shi­va Boys'. Jabari Mitchell fired Na­pari­ma ahead in the match at David Williams Recre­ation Ground, Pe­nal but Shi­va Boys' hit back in style with na­tion­al Un­der-17 goal­keep­er, Kwe­si We­st­on, play­ing in an out­filed po­si­tion and scor­ing twice.

Shi­va Boys' cap­tain, Tevin Pe­ters, Aswad Lake and Dwight Pope added the oth­ers as they joined Pleas­antville on 14 points. In the oth­er South match, Princes Town West Sec­ondary edged Pleas­antville 1-0 with an 82nd minute win­ner from Ha­keem Saun­ders.

Gor­don tre­ble keeps Scar­bor­ough ahead

Mick­ael Gor­don scored a hat-trick as Scar­bor­ough Sec­ondary stayed three points clear of de­fend­ing To­ba­go Zone cham­pi­on Sig­nal Hill Sec­ondary with a 4-0 shut-out of Pen­te­costal Light & Life at the Dwight Yorke Sta­di­um, Ba­co­let. Gor­don net­ted in the 19th, 23rd and 54th minute to car­ry his sea­son tal­ly to sev­en while Dario Holmes got the oth­er in the 57th minute as Scar­bor­ough which end­ed with ten men af­ter Shaquille Scott's ex­pul­sion im­proved to 16 points from six match­es, three ahead of Sig­nal Hill which clob­bered Ma­son Hall Sec­ondary 6-1 at Bon Ac­cord Recre­ation Ground.
