St Anthony's College will be hoping the inclement weather stays away when it travels to Fatima Ground, Mucurapo Road, with the aim of retaining its North Zone BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League zonal title. However, while the heavy showers stood its in way of a top-of-table duel with East Mucurapo Secondary on Saturday forcing a cancellation, the "Westmooring Tigers" will hope today's opponent don't prove such a difficult hurdle from 3.45 pm. The "Tigers", one of two teams in the entire SSFL yet to drop a point lead seven-team with maximum 27 points from nine matches, four ahead of East Mucurapo which has played a match more.

For St Anthony's, the task is simple: avoid defeat and it will make a successful defence of its zonal crown and secure a spot in the national "Big-Five" semifinal. However, a win for "Compre" as East Mucurapo is known will bring it to within a point of the leader and keep the title race open, for at least another round.
When both teams met in the first round, St Anthony's came away with a 3-2 win at home after trailing 2-1 at the half. Queen's Royal College and Fatima College meet in the other re-scheduled North Zone match at QRC Ground. The East Zone scheduled was the lone one to be completely washed out on Saturday and today, the quartet of El Dorado East Secondary (18 pts), Arima North Secondary (18pts), defending zonal and national champion, St Augustine Secondary (16 pts) and San Juan North Secondary (15 pts) will resume their title pursuit.
Today, Arima North travels to Trinity East; St Augustine tackles cellar-placed Barataria South at Bourg Mulatresse Ground, San Juan, and El Dorado East and San Juan North face off in a key encounter at Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar. On Saturday, Carapichaima East Secondary whipped rivals Couva West Secondary 4-1 to secure an eight straight Central Zone title and with it, a place in the national "Big-Five" quarterfinal against the yet to be determined East Zone champion on October 25 at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva. However, the match between Gasparillo Secondary and Presentation which was abandoned at the half at Presentation, Chaguanas, with the visitors ahead 4-0 will also be rescheduled.
