Guy Costa, Varun Maharaj and Joshua Alexander are among a field of over 80 top local cyclists carded to take part in the first annual Kiss Healthy Balance Morne Coco Challenge and Duathlon on November 6.This was announced during a press conference at Mike's Bikes on Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook on Thursday.The Challenge's 60km course will begin at City Gate, moving on to the Eastern Main Road and turning left at the Croisee on Santa Cruz road, then going over to Maraval and on to Lady Young Road before heading back on the Eastern Main Road.
Cyclists will proceed to the Croisee and on to Santa Cruz road over the saddle to Maraval. The race will finish at Pat's Parlour on Morne Cocoa Road.The event is a collaboration between Kiss Baking Company and Phillips Promotions, who began a partnership earlier this year with the goal of encouraging healthy lifestyle choices across the country.Head of Phillips Promotions Michael Phillips revealed that Kiss had since invested $95,000 into the staging of local events."We have found that we have a lot of people in their 30s, 40s and 50s that have taken up cycling and I think that T&T is generally becoming a lot more health conscious," he said.

Other sponsors will include Yoplait, Gatorade, Blue Waters and Hi Lo.The event, one of the last races on the local cycling calendar, will also feature a duathlon and aerobics competition in Diego Martin.
