W Connection will host Adam's Construction San Juan Jabloteh at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella in a rescheduled Digicel Pro League Day Three fixture. The match will commence at 6 pm.When the two teams met two week's ago, the match was blown off within 11 minutes, due to the heavy rainfall, which referee Annaz Mohammed deemed to dangerous for play to continue.Connection has started the season well, and is in a run of form which saw them take maximum points from their last three matches.
Striker Jerrel Britto of W Connection is expected to be fit for the encounter as he takes on his former club, which he moved from over the summer. The 19-year-old has found the back of the net an impressive four times in six matches for the season. Despite Britto not finding the net in the last match, the team is on a high following a 2-1 win over DIRECTV North East Stars last Friday, at the same venue.Connection will also have in the line-up, the likes of top scorer Hughtun Hector (three goals with T&TEC's Sylvester Teesdale and Willis Plaza of Jabloteh).
Plaza found the back of the net last week against T&TEC in Jabloteh's 1-1 draw, and will be one of the dangermen in today's match.Jabloteh will, however, have to do without attacker Jason Marcano who strained a ligament in his left ankle, while pre-season signings Kwame Wiltshire and Randy Britto have been sacked.Following up to the match, Earl Carter coach of Adam's Construction San Juan Jabloteh explained why the pair were not able to fit in his team. "Wiltshire is probably one of the best passers of the ball in Trinidad and Tobago however he isn't defensive and that's against my philosophy.
While Randy Britto showed very little professionalism as a player. We tried a bit with both players however it wasn't working out," he explained.Marcano was injured in the team's draw against North East Stars last Tuesday by defender Seon Power and is expected to return to training by next week.Following today's lone rescheduled Match Day Three fixture, league action will continue with a Round One Match Day Six Super Friday double header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Wrightson Road, on Friday with T&TEC hosting W Connection from 5 pm and Caledonia AIA versus Jabloteh at 7 pm.
