Chair­man of the na­tion­al crick­et se­lec­tion pan­el Dud­nath Ramkessoon says that the re­place­ment play­ers in the T&T team must start de­liv­er­ing.Ramkessoon made his com­ments in light of T&T's loss to Ja­maica in the fi­nals of the Re­gion­al Su­per50 crick­et tour­na­ment.T&T bat­ting first was bowled out for 118 and lost the match by five wick­ets.Ac­cord­ing to Ramkessoon: "We should have got­ten a min­i­mum of 150 to 170 on that pitch and we would have had a chance. How­ev­er, the bat­ting con­tin­ues to be a con­cern for us and it is some­thing that we must look at care­ful­ly."

Ramkessoon said T&T missed the ser­vices of sev­er­al top bats­men but this is no ex­cuse. Miss­ing from the T&T bat­ting line-up were Adri­an Barath (in­jured), Ke­iron Pol­lard (in­jured), Dar­ren Bra­vo (West In­dies du­ty), Lendl Sim­mons (West In­dies du­ty) and De­nesh Ramdin (West In­dies du­ty)."We were miss­ing sev­er­al play­ers but it is time that the bench de­liv­er. Their ap­proach to the game was not good and they have to start pro­duc­ing for us. If you look at Ja­son Mo­hammed, he was ex­cel­lent."He ap­proached the game with a lot of com­mon sense and bat­ted to suit the oc­ca­sion. I think that the rest of the play­ers should have learnt some­thing from him, as he was in con­trol of his game."

Mo­hammed was named play­er of the se­ries for his con­sis­tent bat­ting through­out. Al­so com­ing in for praise was off-spin­ner Sunil Nar­ine, who took the most wick­ets and un­der­lined his rep­u­ta­tion as one of the best off-spin­ners in the Caribbean."Sunil Nar­ine re­al­ly bowled well again for us and I must say con­grat­u­la­tions to him. He def­i­nite­ly has a bright fu­ture ahead of him and he would want to con­tin­ue his good work and take his game for­ward."
