For­mer T&T Davis Cup play­er Dex­ter Ma­hase emerged the top play­er of the Prom­e­nade Clas­si­fied Ten­nis Cham­pi­onships which con­clud­ed over the week­end. Ma­hase walked away with the men's sin­gles and dou­bles "A" ti­tles on the week­end.

The top seed beat his fa­ther, Har­ry, 6-1, 6-3 in the sin­gles fi­nal.Ma­hase claimed yet an­oth­er vic­to­ry over his fa­ther, this time with the help of part­ner Gaek­wad Ra­moutar in the dou­bles. The Ma­hase/Ra­moutar pair got the up­per hand on de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons, Har­ry and Ian Hen­ry, in two straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

This lost came as a sur­prise to the Har­ry/Ian duo who looked as if they were in good line to re­tain their ti­tle, af­ter clob­ber­ing Raval De­onar­ine and Joel David 6-1, 6-3 ear­li­er last week in the se­mi-fi­nals.

Al­so ably de­fend­ing her ti­tle as the women's "A" sin­gles cham­pi­on was Kelta Sa­ta­hoo who got the bet­ter of her archri­val Joy Ar­joon­s­ingh 4-1, 4-2, in a re­peat of last year's fi­nal.
