West In­dies un­der-19 and Fa­ti­ma Col­lege all rounder Akeal Ho­sein was among the top win­ners in the Sec­ondary School North Zone crick­et awards on Fri­day at City Hall, Port-of-Spain.Ho­sein, a for­mer stu­dent of Fa­ti­ma Col­lege, was named crick­eter of the year and was in­duct­ed in­to the Hall of Fame. He achieved awards for fig­ures off (5/46 and 7/37), was among the cen­tu­ry scor­ers 112 and 113, and was among the elite su­per sev­en crick­eters of the year.

Fa­ti­ma Col­lege, cham­pi­ons of the un­der-14 and un­der-16 di­vi­sions, claimed awards for un­der-14 team of the year, un­der-13 in­cred­i­bles (Anand Lochan) and crick­eter of the sea­son in the un­der-14 cat­e­go­ry.Savion Lara of Fa­ti­ma was al­so award­ed as one of the crick­eters of the sea­son in the cham­pi­onship and for rep­re­sent­ing North and the na­tion­al team. Kel­ly Ros­alis was among the awardees for un­der-16 crick­eters of the year along with Chris­t­ian Kissoon in the un­der-14 di­vi­sion.

Awards were al­so dis­trib­uted to the fu­ture crick­eters for their aca­d­e­m­ic suc­cess­es where CIC's David Lee and Fa­ti­ma's Luke Samer­son were award­ed.Al­so re­ceiv­ing were Philton William (Most Valu­able Play­er), Camil­lio Carim­bo­cas (Emerg­ing Play­er of the Year), Ca­van Byrne (Most Promis­ing Play­er of the Year).Ex­ec­u­tive mem­ber of the T&T crick­et board Patrick Ram­per­sad ex­pressed his ap­pre­ci­a­tion to the spon­sors teach­ers, coach­es and prin­ci­pals.
