For­ward Chris Nel­son shot two mas­sive three-point shots in the fi­nal 45 sec­onds of the match, help­ing his team-Min­istry of Sport (MOS) Schoolaz se­cure back-to-back wins in the Mack­e­son Su­per 10 Bas­ket­ball League (SBL), this time a 76-72 tri­umph against Cale­do­nia Clip­pers in over-time, at the Jean Pierre Com­plex, Mu­cu­rapo on Fri­day night.Fol­low­ing an open­ing night loss to de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons De­tour Shak At­tack, Schoolaz re­bound­ed to whip Diego Mar­tin All Stars 105-78 over on Mon­day, and then to drop the Clip­pers to a loss two days af­ter a dom­i­nant per­for­mance over Mal­oney Pac­ers which saw them win 77-49.

The match was tied 66-66 be­fore a de­ter­mined Schoolaz team went all out in the over-time pe­ri­od.It was an out­stand­ing all-round­ed team per­for­mance from Schoolaz which saw Ernesto Ro­main grab a league and ca­reer high 19 re­bounds.He sank 11 points in­to the net, and helped with two as­sists and two steals.Cen­tre Ash­ton De­mur­rell al­so put on a good show, tak­ing 12 points and tak­ing eight re­bounds and four steals, while Chris Nel­son got a team-high 15 points, with four as­sists and three re­bounds.

The win came with a heavy cost for Schoolaz, as the teams skip­per Kem­rick Julien had to be helped off the court, fol­low­ing an an­kle in­jury in his right foot, in the fourth quar­ter.Clip­pers put on a brave per­for­mance, how­ev­er, and took a bright 18-15 lead in the first pe­ri­od, be­fore trail­ing 35-31, and 52-47 at half-time and the third quar­ter.Suc­cess­ful free-throws from Shawn Lawrence in the fi­nal sec­onds of the last quar­ter, saw Clip­pers get back on lev­el terms at the sound of the fi­nal buzzer.

Along with Nel­son, Dil­lon How­ell shot ac­cu­rate bas­kets in the over-time pe­ri­od to sep­a­rate the two teams, and put MOS back in­to con­tention as le­git­i­mate con­tenders for this sea­son's league ti­tle.
