Three aspiring cricketers- Saiba Batoosing, Crystion Thurton and Emilio Gopaul were selected to join the national Under-13 team after impressing in the 12 week long 2011 Digicel Preysal Cricket School, which ended on Sunday.The trio will travel on a goodwill tour of Barbados from December 10 to 21, led by coach Debideen Manick.Meanwhile, Emrith Reesal, Ryan Seepersad, Emilio Gopaul, Amril Lall and Quindell Horsford were invited to become members of the Preysal club for their efforts.Addressing the graduates, Digicel Marketing Assistant- Anjaana Downes expressed delight in having the opportunity to learn and grow along with the participants.
She wished the participants the best in their future endeavours. She spoke on behalf of Digicel saying that it is the telecommunication company's wish that they would all move forward and that in the future, some would be selected for the West indies team.According to Downes, Digicel firmly believes that this kind of advancement is possible for the participants; as the Digicel Preysal Cricket School has a long history of producing skilled cricketers who go on to represent T&T at many levels.Players were awarded in the categories of "Most Valuable Player", "Best Batsman", "Best Bowler", and Best Fieldsman" in three age categories.
