Re­cent­ly rel­e­gat­ed Na­tion­al Su­per League team St Fran­cois Na­tion­als, which had a dis­mal 2011 sea­son, record­ed the up­set of the round fol­low­ing a 1-0 win over TT Pro League's T&TEC in the TTFF FA Tro­phy round of 16 match at the QPCC Ground, Queen's Park Sa­van­nah, Port-of-Spain, yes­ter­day. Lorne Joseph was the hero of the day, as his lone item in the 13th minute last­ed un­til the end and proved to be the de­cider in a thrilling en­counter. De­spite be­ing pres­sured, es­pe­cial­ly in the sec­ond half, St Fran­cois kept the "Elec­tric­i­ty Boys" at bay, with bril­liant saves com­ing from goal­keep­er Den­zil Carabon be­tween the sticks. St Fran­cois, sur­pris­ing­ly has the bet­ter first half, and had to hold their de­fen­sive lines well in the sec­ond to sup­port its lead.

T&TEC field­ed a full-strength squad with Aki­ni Adams, Ker­ry Bap­tiste, An­dre Pacheco and An­dre Tou­s­saint all in the line-up, but the unispired team was un­able to put any­thing past a bril­liant Carabon. Joe Pub­lic, win­ners of the Na­tion­al Su­per League cup and league com­pe­ti­tions for 2011 was set to take on To­ba­go Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion cham­pi­ons St Clair Coach­ing School, at the Mar­vin Lee Sta­di­um, Ma­coya, but the match failed to kick off, for rea­sons un­spec­i­fied. In an­oth­er ear­ly match, OJ Sol­da­do School had no prob­lems brush­ing aside East SS­FL cham­pi­ons Cara­pichaima East Sec­ondary 4-0 at the School's home turf.
